Liver/Kidney Clean contains a proprietary blend of organic mushroom extracts. This blend contains:
- Organic Cordyceps Mushroom Extract - the cordyceps mushroom is celebrated for its ability to support liver and kidney health, due to its unique compounds like cordycepin and polysaccharides. These substances have been shown to support detoxification processes in the liver and support kidney health.
- Organic Maitake Mushroom Extract - The maitake mushroom is known for its ability to support overall liver and kidney health through its rich beta-glucan content, supporting the body's immune response and support the detoxification processes. Four Leaf Rover maitake mushrooms are organically cultivated to support health benefits without the addition of harmful synthetic chemicals.
- Organic Reishi Mushroom Extract - The reishi mushroom is highly regarded for its liver and kidney supporting properties, primarily due to its triterpenoids and polysaccharides.
- Organic Shiitake Mushroom Extract - The shiitake mushroom supports liver and kidney health, thanks to its high content of ergothioneine. Shiitake mushrooms also contain polysaccharides like lentinan, which can support immune function. Four Leaf Rover organically-grown shiitake mushrooms are free from harmful pesticides and fertilisers.
- Organic Broccoli Sprouts - broccoli sprouts are the young shoots of the broccoli plant, renowned for their high concentration of sulforaphane, a compound which is liver supportive, posses immune supporting properties as well as supporting digestive health.
- Organic Milk Thistle Seed - milk seed contains silymarin which supports liver and kidney function.
- Organic Burdock Root - Burdock root supports healthy skin and is antioxidant-rich. Burdock root also supports liver function and digestion, due to its inulin content, a type of soluble fiber that supports healthy gut bacteria.
- Organic Yellow Dock Root - Yellow dock is a herb known for its detoxifying properties, gently cleansing the liver, spleen and kidneys.
- Organic Dandelion Root - Dandelion root is known for its liver-supporting and detoxifying properties, thus supporting liver health. A kidney tonic that helps the kidneys filter toxins.
- Organic Marshmallow Root Extract - marshmallow root helps cleanse the kidneys and bladder due to its high mucilage content, which provides a soothing layer over mucous membranes.
- Natural Curcumin - Curcumin, the active compound in turmeric, helps produce enzymes that break down toxins in the liver while also supporting kidney health. Four Leaf Rover's curcumin is carbon-14 tested, a critical step to ensure their curcumin is derived from plant sources and not synthetically produced. This testing guarantees the authenticity and quality of curcumin, enhancing its safety and efficacy for supporting liver and kidney health.
How often should I give this to my dog?
Four Leaf Rover explain that you can give the recommended amount up to twice daily for between 3 and 4 weeks to provide a gentle liver and kidney cleanse for your dog. They recommend watching your dog's response to the product and tailoring the amount for them. Twice daily will be okay for some dogs but dogs with a more sensitive system may only need it once per day to maintain detoxing.
This product is meant to provide a gentle detox and not stimulate a strong detox reaction. Some discharges may occur naturally (nasal, eyes, ears) but the animal should feel fine.
If your dog shows signs of a more serious detox reaction (Herxheimer type – flu-like symptoms) due to the release of endotoxins from potential bacteria die off. In this instance try reducing the amount being given or stop for a couple of days and reintroduce slowly and things should correct themselves.

How are your mushrooms grown?: Four Leaf Rover mushrooms come from China, which, believe it or not, is the only place you can find the entire mushroom. With that said, they take safety and purity seriously. The mushrooms Four Leaf Rover use are grown on wood, in filtered air, way up in the mountains, hundreds of miles from the cities. Before the mushrooms leave China, they’re tested for pesticides and heavy metals and once they arrive in the USA, they’re tested again, then tested a third time before they are put into jars.
How long should I give this product for? Four Leaf Rover recommend giving Liver/Kidney Clean for 30-60 days and then to take a break for at least 30 days.
How many times a year should I give the cleanse? How often you give Liver/Kidney Clean depends on your dog’s diet and lifestyle. For dogs living in the city or for those eating processed foods, Four Leaf Rover recommend a quarterly cleanse.
Can it be given in combination with Green Rover or Digest? Yes. All three products contain broccoli sprouts which are high in sulforaphane, which helps to support the liver. The extra amount of broccoli sprouts may cause excess gas in some dogs, so you may need to adjust the amount of Green Rover.
Anything to avoid when doing a cleanse? While your dog is on Liver/Kidney Clean, it’s a good idea to also look at giving him clean food and a clean environment at the same time. Try to avoid all chemicals or toxins if you can while your dog is on Liver/Kidney Clean.
Are there any Four Leaf Rover products that should not be taken while on Liver/Kidney Clean? No, Four Leaf Rover do not see any issues with combining Liver/Kidney Clean with their other products. If you’re concerned, we encourage you to consult with your veterinarian.
