Calendula
Calendula Officinalis is also known as pot marigold and its yellow flowers are familiar to many. Calendula is most commonly used in balms, lotions and ointments using the flower and is best known for its soothing and healing properties. Calendula has anti-inflammatory, antiviral, antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. Calendula helps to stimulate wound healing by encouraging epithelial growth. It is often a first choice for minor cuts, abrasions, rashes, eczema and even sunburn. Calendula can also be used internally and can support the immune system, aid liver function and calm the nervous system.
