The 8 Species Selected for the Bark & Whiskers® Organic Fermented Mushroom Blend
Shiitake (Lentinula edodes): Contains abundant l-ergothioneine and the immune system-supporting polysaccharide lentinan.
Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum): Known as a "three treasure" herb, it's thought by the Chinese to harmonize jung (life force), qi (energy), and shen (spirit).
Maitake (Grifola frondosa): The fruit bodies and mycelia of the Maitake contain high concentrations of immune-supporting beta-glucans.
Lion's Mane (Hericium erinaceus): Resembling a cheerleader's pom-pom more than a mushroom, this whitish mushroom supported memory and helped regain a sense of curiosity in a group of study mice. It is unknown whether the benefits in mice apply to cats and dogs.
King Trumpet (Pleurotus eryngii): A robust culinary mushroom with significant levels of l-ergothioneine, selenium, and beta-glucans. In animal studies, it helped maintain healthy cholesterol levels that were already within the normal range.
Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor): Known for its rich supply of a particular type of polysaccharide – PSK – that may promote immune, digestive, urinary and respiratory health and normal cellular growth.
Himematsutake (Agaricus blazei): Related to the common button mushroom, the Agaricus is noted for its high content of immune-supporting polysaccharides and other important cellular growth-supporting compounds.
Cordyceps (Cordyceps militaris): Chinese herbalists believe that Cordyceps replenishes both Yin and Yang Jing and acts as a restorative tonic for extreme exertion, stress, or from normal aging. Also known for its ability to support energy, performance, circulation, respiratory health, and healthy cholesterol levels already in the normal range.
GMO-Free : Bark & Whiskers products do not contain any ingredients that are genetically modified, which are plants or animals whose structure has been changed to improve production or appearance.
Gluten Free: Our products do not contain gluten, which is a protein present in wheat, barley, rye and some oats, and is known to cause sensitivity in many individuals.
Soy Free: Our products are free of soy whenever possible due to its impact on hormones and common GMO status.
Organic: This certification means that at least 95% of the ingredients in a product are organic and don't have synthetic additives, pesticides or GMO – highlighting a company’s commitment to preserving nature and biodiversity. Please note however these are to US standards and not to UK standards as set by the Soil Association.

- Saturday delivery - with DPD £16.99
Orders over £44.99 (and less than 3.5kg) are sent free of charge using Royal Mail 48 Tracked. There is however the option to upgrade to Royal Mail Tracked 24 for £1.49 or use a DPD Courier at £4.99

Click & Collect - free You are welcome to collect your order from our offices at Northwich, Cheshire (CW9 7TN). Office hours are typically 9.00 – 4.30 but often we are here later, so it is recommended to ring ahead. Tel: 01565 745463.
Orders over 3.5kg will need to be send with DPD as we are unable to ship heavy items with Royal Mail. DPD will attract an additional shipping charges – see below for more information.
Please be advised that during busier periods, such as Christmas and Black Friday, parcel deliveries may take longer to be delivered.

General Rules for DPD
Under normal circumstances, all orders placed before 1.30pm will be dispatched the same working day. Orders placed after 1.30pm will be dispatched on the following working day. Orders placed after 1.30pm on a Friday will be dispatched on the following Monday for delivery on Tuesday (or Wednesday for UK special postcodes). This also applies to orders received after 1.30pm on a Thursday.
Saturdays, Sundays and all Bank & Public Holidays are classed as non-working days and orders will be dispatched on the next working day.
Your order will be fully trackable, and you will receive a text and email (if supplied) when your order has been dispatched, and on the day of delivery you will receive an estimated 1-hour delivery window, with alternative options if you are not in.
We reserve the right to switch this service to Royal Mail Special Delivery Next Day, in exceptional circumstances.
