The science behind the ingredients

KSM-66® Ashwagandha  - a clinically proven adaptogen that regulates cortisol—the stress hormone. By balancing cortisol, it helps reduce anxiety and promotes a calm, stable mood, all without making your pet drowsy. The active compound, withanolides, boosts your pet's resilience to stress, helping them stay calm and balanced no matter what comes their way.

Lemon Balm - a unique extract from Melissa officinalis, rich in bioactive compounds. This includes rosmarinic acid, which helps support GABA receptors in the brain—key players in calming the nervous system and promoting relaxation in your pets. Clinical studies have shown that this natural extract can reduce stress markers like cortisol and heart rate in as little as one hour [2].

Passion Flower (Passiflora incarnata) - this natural herb supports relaxation and alleviates stress in dogs through multiple mechanisms. It increases GABA production, inhibits cortisol (the stress hormone), and interacts with serotonin receptors to help regulate mood, making it an effective, gentle solution for promoting calmness without heavy sedation.

L-Tryptophan - an important amino acid that helps produce serotonin, a key neurotransmitter that regulates mood, stress, and anxiety in our pets. In dogs, L-Tryptophan is converted into 5-HTP (hydroxytryptophan), which is then turned into serotonin in the brain. This process helps keep your pet calm, reduces stress, and promotes a sense of well-being

Chamomile - a natural herb is well-known for its calming properties, thanks to bioactive compounds like Apigenin, which interacts with receptors in the brain to boost the calming effects of GABA (gama-aminobutyric acid). Along with helping to reduce stress, it also has soothing antispasmodic properties that can ease digestive discomfort often caused by stress.

Valerian - a powerful and well-known herb that helps to ease tense muscles caused by stress. Its key compounds, Valerenic acid and Valepotriates, boost GABA activity, calming the nervous system. Valerian is especially powerful for dogs dealing with sudden anxiety, like during thunderstorms, fireworks, or separation anxiety.

Vitamin B Complex - Vitamin B6 supports the production of  important neurotransmitters like serotonin, while Vitamin B3 supports normal brain function to manage stress. Vitamin B1 promotes relaxation, especially for dogs dealing with fear-based reactions. Vitamin B12 reduces the physical effects of stress and fatigue, while also supporting brain function.

Brewers Yeast, Prebiotics & Postbiotics - Combined, these natural, tasty ingredients work together to help  improve your pet's gut microflora, which can be affected by stress. A healthy gut is key to your dog's overall well-being.

Hydrolysed Chicken Liver - makes CliniPaw powder toppers not only delicious but also safe for your pet. This hypoallergenic ingredient ensures that CliniPaw toppers are loved by your dog!
