How do I use it?

Boil & Broth's Bone Broths are are high in concentration. They contain pure protein. This is why you only need a small amount per serving.

A 50g pouch can rehydrate back to 1 litre of liquid bone broth. This is equivalent to 30 servings for a small dog.

Larger dogs may benefit from Boil & Broth 120g size instead. Head to our sister site

( If purchasing from both our sister site, Totally Healthful, and Healthful Pets at the same time, it is possible for us to combine orders. Please pay for shipping on one purchase and select  "Collect from Northwich" on the other )

Recommended Serving Guidelines:

Small Dog (5-20kg) = 1/3 scoop with 30ml-50ml of boiling hot water.

Medium Dog (20-35kg) = 1/2 scoop with 50ml-70ml of boiling hot water.

Large Dog (35kg+) = 1 scoop with 100ml of boiling hot water.

For Cats: follow the serving guidelines given for dogs based on their weight. For kitten size, it is recommended to only use 1-2g with 10-20ml of hot water just to get them started.

Rehydrate back to liquid broth

Measure the broth powder according to the feeding guidelines above. Add boiling hot water and stir well to prevent clumping. Let the broth cool before serving.

Rehydrate back to a collagen jelly

Add one scoop (5g) to a jug with 70ml of boiling hot water. Double the amount if you want to make up more. If you want more jelly, just use less water per scoop. Stir well and then put your liquid broth into your fridge. We recommend the back of the fridge because it’s cooler. Make sure your fridge is set to 3 degrees. Leave for 24 hours.

Rehydrate back to a liquid and freeze into moulds

Add two scoops to a jug with 100ml of boiling hot water. Stir well and then pour your broth into frozen moulds. Place in the freezer for 24 hours.

Sprinkle on a meal as a topper

Following the feeding guidelines, sprinkle the broth powder directly on to your dog’s meal.

Rehydrate back to liquid broth and add to recipes

Add one scoop to a jug with 100ml of boiling hot water. Stir well and add to your favourite dog recipes.

Storage: Store on your shelf in a cool dry place. Use within 2 years of opening, or before the best before date.

If you rehydrate your broth back to a liquid then store in the fridge, use within 5 days.

If you rehydrate your broth back to a liquid then store in the freezer, use within 12 months.

About Boil & Broth

Boil and Broth specialise in making bone broth for dogs and they are the only UK bone broth manufacturer to obtain a dual food license to produce broth for the human and pet feed market.

Rachel started Boil and Broth back in 2018 after seeing the demand for the products she was making. Rachel herself had health issues and she researched a lot about her condition and finally developed my her own diet, as well as making broth and kefir water to help. Within 12 weeks she had reversed her condition.

Rachel has grown her small family business from selling a few orders a week to establishing a great business on a private farm selling her products to people all over the country, including the pet side of the business.

All their broth is made using locally Dorset sourced organic, grass-fed animals. They add no vegetables or seasoning, which means that their broth is higher in protein, because they use more bones. This makes this broth an excellent addition to your dog’s diet and they will love you for it too.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

My bone broth won’t turn into jelly, why is this? Collagen is the protein that makes your broth turn to jelly. Collagen is a delicate protein and will only set at temperatures of 3-4 degrees. Make sure your fridge is turned right down to get your broth to wobble.

How much apple cider vinegar is used? Apple cider vinegar is used as a processing ingredient. There is less than 1% used during the broth production process. Once the broth has been pressure cooked, there is no apple cider vinegar left in the final product.

My broth sticks to the spoon when stirring, why is this? Collagen causes the broth to stick to the spoon. It is a natural product and you need to be patient with it. Simply use another spoon to scrape off the collagen into the hot water and continue to stir.

Can I freeze my broth once rehydrated? Yes absolutely. This is a common way people love to use these broths. Simply make up the broths following the guidelines and then put any unwanted liquid broth in the freezer.

Is bone broth safe for my dog with CKD? Caution must be taken when introducing any new supplements to your dog’s diet if they have CKD. Always consult with your vet. Boil & Broth do recommend small amounts of broth for dogs with CKD. Broth is great for gut health, so giving your dog 10ml of rehydrated broth daily can help support their gut health and keep them hydrated.

Is bone broth safe for my dog with pancreatitis? Caution must be taken when introducing any new supplements to your dog’s diet if they have pancreatitis. Always consult with your vet. My dog is new to bone broth, how should I introduce broth to their diet? It is recommended introducing these broths slowly. 10ml per day for 3 days, and then increase the amount until they reach their weight according to the feeding guideline.

Can I travel with my broth? Yes absolutely. These broths are great to travel with and can really help if your dog develops an upset tummy when you are away.

When introducing bone broth to your dog’s diet, please consult your vet.
